Get the most out of your operative time
Brainlab Spine Planning consists of tailored Elements software applications that fit into your workflows, complement the equipment and techniques you already use and ultimately let you make the most out of your time in the O.R. Driven by the power of information through software intelligence, Brainlab Planning Elements are developed to be the basis for a good clinical outcome.
Time-saving apps that fit into your workflows
The Brainlab Planning Portfolio offers a flexible toolset. From simple automatic screw planning features to enhanced complex spine curvature correction options, our Planning Elements enable you to use the best possible data for planning surgeries.
Our automated algorithms take care of the most time-consuming aspects of planning for you. Together with surgical robotics, responsive navigation and robotic intraoperative imaging, Brainlab Spine Planning helps you be your most prepared for surgery.
Customize your planning with tailored applications
Profit from streamlined access to medical image data
Elements Viewer provides immediate access to patient datasets that fundamentally inform the planning and decision-making process. This user-friendly and intuitive application supports the surgical planning team by enabling quick and direct interaction with DICOM images.
Accelerate the planning process
Based on our intelligent segmentation algorithm, Elements Spine Planning provides automatically proposed labeling options for 2D and 3D datasets. Automation of labeling can accelerate the planning process and therefore save valuable time. Manual labeling and correction of labeling are available, especially in cases with changed anatomy due to deformities or tumors.
Benefit from additional measurement information
Automatic measurements provide additional information especially in complex cases, such as scoliosis. Frequently used measurements can be saved to both individualize and accelerate the planning process. Proposed measurements can also be visualized on 2D images (AP/LAT) based on detected landmarks.
Simplify your workflow through automation
Elements Spine Planning enables you to define optimal screw trajectories on multiple image modalities, including CT, CBCT and MR datasets. Automation of screw planning, from cervical to sacrum, accelerates the workflow by allowing users to simply review, fine-tune and accept the proposed screw positions using standard or robotic navigation. Rod visualization provides additional context for optimized screw planning.
Facilitate communication and documentation
After measuring and planning screws, a report can be generated with one click enabling simplified communication and documentation before and during the surgical procedure. Automatic screw reports have the potential to make a tremendous impact on the efficiency of surgical planning. In case measurements were taken, separate reports can be generated for documentation and clinical study support.
Work with anatomically relevant perspectives
The Elements Viewer software uses anatomical mapping intelligence to calculate smart views in seconds and provide information and perspectives that cannot be seen on unmodified images. Elements Viewer Smart Layout Spine is ideal for preoperative and postoperative screw verification. This application lets you view independent axial planes automatically aligned to the curvature of the spine in a single view. Views prepared in the office, including measurements, can be accessed and reviewed intraoperatively at a planning station or directly on the navigation system with Elements Viewer 3D.
Consider every angle with Elements Image Fusion
Bring your plan together with Elements Image Fusion. This fully automated and highly accurate image fusion application provides indispensable definition and flexible contouring on any dataset. During surgery, intraoperatively acquired images can be fused with pre-planned data to verify the position of implants or repositioned bone fragments.
Use fused and corrected data in the O.R.
Consider the variations in spine curvature and make use of Elements Spine Curvature Correction to co-register scans of the patient and therefore compensate for inevitably varied spine positions during different imaging sessions. Ideal for fusing long-range scans from an iCT or cone beam CT, the software brings together scans from MR and CT with intraoperative imaging to update them for surgery.
Efficiency even for specific & complex cases
Save time with automatically segmented objects
Elements Segmentation Spine automatically maps the spine and surrounding organs to quickly provide a visualization of the anatomy and enable manipulation of defined objects on CT scans. View these objects preoperatively with the Mixed Reality Viewer and intraoperatively with the Microscope Navigation.
Define tumor volumes from just two slices
Elements SmartBrush incorporates multiple modalities and supports personalized planning with quick, interactive outlining of tumors and other relevant structures. For example, delineate tumors with just two slices. For consistent tumor monitoring, auto-generated volumetric reports can also create functionalities as individual as your cases.
Elements object management
Easily incorporate relevant spinal structures into your plan with fully automated, atlas-based anatomical segmentation. For complex deformity or tumor case planning, utilize the split or merge of objects or include safety margins to fit your reconstruction needs. Finalize your surgical preparation by integrating standard or customized implants via STL import / export into your plan.
