Job Description

Scientific marketing:

  • Develop and disseminate scientific marketing artifacts and materials based on clinical data, promoting Brainlab solutions across various platforms (e.g., social media, clinical literature), and supporting product-specific marketing and sales efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Social Media, PR) to create scientifically grounded marketing materials (e.g., Scientific One-Pagers, Clinical Literature Library, Social Media Activities), and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends by attending national and international workshops, conferences, and monitoring relevant scientific papers, supporting both Sales, Marketing, and R&D teams with literature reviews.
  • Foster interdisciplinary communication across departments (e.g., Sales, R&D) by developing internal platforms that filter and distribute relevant clinical data, enhancing the team's understanding of product science.
  • Manage clinical claims and content throughout the product lifecycle, working with Product Management to ensure scientific accuracy and address Sales requests regarding new publications and competitor research.
  • Present scientific findings at both internal and external meetings, contributing to education and awareness on Brainlab's research and technological advancements.

Scientific literature and information management:

  • Take over management and administration responsibilities of a document delivery platform including budget monitoring and associated coordination with publishers
  • Manage copyright issues and companywide strategic scientific literature purchase activities
  • Develop / maintain expertise for systematic literature search
  • Support clinical authors by providing expertise in methodological quality appraisal for literature, including scientific validity of data and relevance of the data for the clinical evaluation of the product(s)

Additional responsibilities:

  • Support R&D with literature searches for specific clinical evaluation projects on request
  • Responsible for maintaining the literature search and appraisal templates for state of the art and device search and claims strategy meeting template
  • Responsible for scientific literature related content on Clinical Affairs intranet page
  • Occasionally manage marketing driven small and low complex research projects

Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant natural science (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Medicine, Biotechnology, Pharmacy) or a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Medical Technology).An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with scientific literature, data analysis, and the process of scientific publishing
  • Experience conducting research (e.g., laboratory work, clinical trials, publications) desirable
  • Demonstrable marketing experience, particularly in scientific marketing or healthcare marketing
  • Experience in creating science-based materials for various audiences (e.g., doctors, researchers, patients, sales teams) is desirable
  • Good understanding of content marketing, strategic communication, and targeted advertising
  • Familiarity with regulations, guidelines, and ethical standards in medical and pharmaceutical marketing
  • Industry-specific knowledge in medical devices, biotech, or pharma highly desirable
  • Excellent teamwork and the ability to manage interfaces between different departments (Clinical Affairs, R&D, marketing, sales)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify and convey complex scientific information clearly
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
