As Director Controlling you will be responsible for overseeing the financial controlling function, ensuring effective financial planning, analysis and reporting. You will play a key role in strategic decision-making, optimizing financial performance and supporting senior management with data-driven insights. The role requires a strong leadership mindset, analytical skills and the ability to drive efficiency across financial processes.
Typical areas of responsibility include:
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business decisions
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze key financial KPIs, profitability, and cost structures to ensure financial health and efficiency
- Strategic Decision Support: Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
- Process Optimization: Improve controlling processes, financial models, and reporting structures for better efficiency and accuracy
- Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, corporate policies, and internal controls
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead and develop the controlling team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Accounting, Operations, and Strategy) to align financial goals with business objectives
- Reporting & Presentations: Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and board meetings
- Investment & Cost Control: Evaluate investment opportunities, CAPEX projects, and cost-saving initiatives
Qualifikationen
- Master’s degree in Finance, Controlling, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in financial controlling, FP&A or a similar finance leadership role
- Strong knowledge of financial modeling, SAP (or similar ERP systems), BI toolsand Excel
- Understanding of IFRS, GAAPand other financial reporting standards
- Proven track record in managing and developing teams
- Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights
- Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical skills, high integrity as well as curiousness
- Business fluent in English and German
