Radiosurgery Products

Brainlab has been a key player in the field of precision radiotherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for over three decades. After taking a deeper look at today’s fundamental challenges in SRS, Brainlab has moved away from a uniform treatment planning system to a set of exceptional applications for contouring and dose planning that augment what is currently available.

Automated, Intelligent and Indication-specific Applications

Elements allow for optimal customization around clinical needs, use standard interfaces and can function with a variety of different workflows, treatment delivery systems and positioning technologies.

  • Elements Cranial SRS quickly creates standardized radiosurgery plans for complex cranial indications, enabling both fast planning and delivery without compromising treatment quality by leveraging a 4π optimization algorithm.

  • Elements Multiple Brain Mets SRS simply and flexibly creates treatment plans that enable the user to treat multiple metastases in one session with reduced toxicity and increased efficiency.

  • Elements Contrast Clearance Analysis makes differentiation of brain regions with high and low vascular activity quickly visible, helping the decision-making process in most brain tumor cases.

  • Elements Spine SRS offers clinical efficiency during planning, including enhanced elastic co-registration between MR and CT in complex regions, consistent and standardized target definition and most accurate dose calculations utilizing Monte Carlo.

Positioning and Monitoring

ExacTrac Dynamic provides precise target control by enabling highly accurate patient positioning as well as intrafractional position monitoring to help clinicians deliver fast, precise image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) for their Cranial & Spinal SRS and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) patients. The system addresses a wide range of clinical challenges and facilitates the treatment of extra-cranial indications such as breast cancer using our Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH) workflow and prostate cancer with our Implanted Marker Monitoring workflow. A dedicated Lung Motion Management1 workflow enables the non-invasive treatment and targeting of lung lesions by precisely monitoring tumor organ motion and irradiating at a defined range of the respiratory cycle.

Services Dedicated to Excellence in Radiosurgery

Consistency and access to state-of-the-art care remain cornerstones of the Brainlab vision. That’s why Brainlab initiated the Novalis Certified program to ensure that radiosurgery programs remain safe and efficient as treatments become increasingly sophisticated. Hospitals can obtain certification after they have successfully undergone an external audit conducted by the independent Novalis Circle  expert group. Brainlab customers can join the Novalis Circle, a worldwide network of clinicians dedicated to the advancement of radiosurgery. It provides a communication and collaboration network for developing new ideas and optimizing treatments that will continue to change the face of cancer treatment.

Digitizing and Analyzing Clinical Data

Brainlab supports the statistical mining of data with the SRS Registry. In partnership with the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), the Registry aims to not only create benchmarks in radiosurgery but also use statistical data to drive future decisions and the evolution of care.
