For..Net Symposium “Data Use for Medicine, Administration and Law”

The Research Center for IT Law and Network Policy (“For..Net” for short) has been examining questions of IT law and the challenges posed by technical developments to legal policy in the state, economy and society for several years now. The 17th For..Net Symposium will take place for the first time in Munich on April 20–21, 2023, with the theme  “Data Use for Medicine, Administration and Law – New Legal and Ethical Questions on Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality”.

Stefan Vilsmeier, Brainlab CEO, has been addressing the possibilities and ethical limits of research with patient data for some time and was among the nominees for the German Future Prize in 2022. His talk on April 20th at 2:30 PM is entitled “Data Use for Life-Saving Medical Technology” and discusses the ethical balancing act of using patient data for research.
