The "HIV Science as Art" exhibition, organized by the Munich AIDS help organization with support from ViiV Healthcare, took place July 22 – 26, 2024 at Brainlab headquarters. The art project was showcased as part of this year's International AIDS Conference in Munich.

The exhibition featured artworks by twelve artists living with HIV, created in collaboration with HIV scientists, merging science and art. The pieces ranged from paintings and photographs to sculptures and fashion designs, all available for purchase. After the exhibition, the works were sold at a silent auction, with the proceeds benefiting HIV programs and community projects in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Africa.

“With AIDS, as with any disease, we believe creative thinking and dialogue about challenges can inspire innovation that makes a real impact. Including artists’ perspectives while reflecting on scientific work related to AIDS will expand our horizons on our quest for a cure”, said Stefan Vilsmeier, Brainlab founder and CEO. Art and culture play a significant role at Brainlab. With the Brainlab Culture Program, the company fulfills its social responsibility and connects innovation and technology with creativity and art.
