Small footprint, large image, greater flexibility

With a footprint of only 1.5 sqm and no need for a dedicated monitor cart, Loop-X saves O.R. space. With its large 43 cm x 43 cm flat-panel detector, Loop-X provides you with the desired information in one shot. Loop-X is compatible with a broad range of O.R. tables, integrating with your existing equipment to maximize resources.

Loop-X is a superior option compared to conventional CT for imaging obese patients in the OR, a population that is continually growing. Additionally, it significantly reduces radiation exposure. In my opinion, its greatest feature is the seamless integration with navigation.

Patient-tailored imaging

  • Generous gantry opening of 121 cm enables flexible positioning in prone, supine or lateral

  • Non-isocentric imaging allows off-centered image acquisition for spine, cranial and orthopedic applications such as shoulder and hip

  • Dynamic Collimation technology protects sensitive anatomical areas by keeping the region of interest in focus

Spine incision planning

  • Wizard-guided incision planning allows easy identification of the correct vertebral level with only two scout views

  • Laser crosshair projection of desired incision point precisely displayed onto the patient’s skin

  • Scout views can be reused to define the 3D scan volume—no additional X-Rays are required to save dose

Scalable field of view (FOV)

  • Standard 3D scan volume of 25 cm length and diameter exceeds the volume of conventional 3D C-arms and other intraoperative CBCT scanners

  • The 3D FOV can be scaled seamlessly from a scan volume of 3 x 3 cm for smaller anatomical regions like the cochlea to a larger scan volume of 48 x 25 cm for regions such as the hip, pelvis or localizer 3D scans in functional neurosurgery (e.g. DBS and sEEG)

  • Extended 2D FOV offers X-Ray images with up to 25 x 60 cm FOV

  • Automated image stitching in 2D and 3D allows for a wider and longer FOV

Robotic alignments

  • Autonomous movement and position recall for precise reacquisition of any X-Ray with just one press of a button

  • Control independent movements of flat-panel detector and source to adjust the imaging center to the patient

  • Application specific 3D scan parameters such as Dual Arc: yaw rotation during image acquisition collects more raw data to enable improved 3D image reconstruction for optimal intraoperative image quality

  • Intuitive positioning and pointer planning by the surgeon in the sterile field. Use the navigated pointer to align Loop-X according to the trajectory of the pointer.

Longitudinal scans in 2D and 3D

  • Advanced stitching technology allows for scan lengths exceeding 25 cm

  • Ideal for documentation and planning of long constructs, multi-level spine interventions and orthopedic extremity scans

  • Automatic calculation of minimally required 3D volumes to generate one long 3D scan

  • Choose between two options to acquire a 2D topogram scan: unlimited freehand or predefined start-end topogram

  • For 2D longitudinal scans, Loop-X optimizes imaging parameters for different anatomical regions to balance image quality and low dose

  • Automatic Exposure Control (AEC) manages noise levels over the full body range to provide optimal image quality

Onboard tracking camera*

  • Motion compensation during 3D image acquisition for improved image quality, eliminating double contours, blurred images and artifacts

  • Visual control for sub-millimeter repositioning accuracy when Loop-X returns to stored position

Advanced 3D scans

  • Choose from a variety of different scanning techniques to optimize image quality

  • Application-specific scan parameters vary between 180° and 360° scans

  • Choose between conventional planar image acquisition or Dual Arc scan featuring a yaw rotation during 3D scan process to acquire additional anatomical information for optimal image quality and reduction of metal artifacts
